With regard to its physical properties, talc has a spcific gravity of 2.7 to 2.8, the lowest hardness of all inorganic minerals (Mohs hardness of 1),excellent heat resistance, and good chemical stability, making it an ideal filler material for an extensive range of applications.

Paper and pulp:Filler, pitch control agent, coating agent
Plastics:For improving rigdity, heat resistance, dimension stability during molding, as electrical insulation, mat, reducing combustion heat
Paints:Body pigment, powder coating, drip prevention agent
Rubber:For improving electrical resistance and heat resistance, reinforcing agent, remover
Pharmaceuticals:Bulking agent for tablets
Cosmetics:Foundation, body powder, eye shadow, rouge
